Healthy, shiny hair looks & feels so good that it can give us an extra boost of confidence! Some people swear by leave-in conditioners to keep their hair strong. Find here a super simple recipe for a nourishing DIY leave-in conditioner:

DIY Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner Ingredients:

  • Coconut Oil: 2 tablespoons (moisturizes & conditions hair)
  • Shea Butter: 1 tablespoon (provides deep moisture & softens hair)
  • Aloe Vera Gel: 2 tablespoons (adds moisture & promotes hair health)
  • Argan Oil: 1 teaspoon (helps repair damaged hair & adds shine)
  • Essential Oil (optional): A few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance (e.g., lavender, rosemary, or peppermint)

How to make leave-in conditioner:

#1 Melt the Shea Butter

Melt the shea butter in a heat-safe bowl using a double boiler or microwave. Be careful not to overheat.

#2 Mix the Ingredients

Once the shea butter is melted, add the coconut oil and stir until well combined. Then, add the aloe vera gel and argan oil & mix thoroughly.

#3 Cooling & Fragrance

Allow the mixture to cool slightly. If you’re using essential oils for fragrance, you can add them now & mix well.

#4 Fill it up

Once your mixture has cooled & reached a creamy consistency, transfer it to a clean, airtight container for storage. You can use travel shampoo bottles for easy application.

How to use your leave-in conditioner

Apply a small amount of the leave-in conditioner to your damp or dry hair. Focus on the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid applying it directly to your scalp, especially if you have oily hair. Style your hair as usual.

Store your leave-in conditioner in a cool, dry place. Since it contains natural ingredients & no preservatives, it’s best to use it within a few weeks or keep it in the refrigerator.

This DIY leave-in conditioner is nourishing and suitable for most hair types, especially for dry or damaged hair. You can adjust the proportions of the ingredients according to your hair’s needs. Enjoy the natural benefits of healthy, moisturized hair!
