Preparing green tea properly is so important to bring out its delicate flavors & all of its health benefits. Here’s a simple guide on how to make the perfect cup of green tea!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Choose the right quality

Start with high-quality green tea. You can use loose leaves or tea bags. Look for fresh & aromatic options.

Measure the Tea

Measure the appropriate amount of tea based on your preference. Generally, use 1 teaspoon of loose tea leaves or 1 tea bag for an 8-ounce cup.

Use Fresh Water

Use fresh, filtered water for the best taste. Avoid using water that has been sitting for a long time or has been reheated.

Water Temperature

Green tea is more delicate than black tea, so using the right water temperature is crucial! Ideally, heat the water to about 175°F (80°C). If the water is too hot, it can make the tea bitter. For the ultimate taste, it is important that you boil the water & let it cool. Don´t mix the hot water with cold water or add ice cubes. This will have a bad influence on its taste.

Preheat the Teapot or Teacup

Pour a small amount of hot water into the teapot or teacup to warm it. Swirl the hot water around and then discard it. This helps maintain the temperature of the water during brewing.

Add Tea Leaves or Tea Bag

Place the measured tea leaves or tea bag into the teapot or teacup.

Pour Water

Pour the hot water over the tea leaves or tea bag. Ensure that the water covers the leaves or tea bag completely.

Steeping Time

Let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes. Green tea should not be steeped for too long, as it can become bitter. Adjust the steeping time based on your taste preferences.

Strain or Remove the Tea Bag

If you use loose tea leaves, strain the tea to separate the leaves from the liquid. If you are using a tea bag, remove it.

Serve

Pour the brewed green tea into your teacup and enjoy it as is or with a slice of lemon or a touch of honey if desired.

Keep in mind

Remember that these are general guidelines; you can adjust the amount of tea, water temperature, and steeping time based on your preferences. Experimenting with different parameters will help you find the perfect cup of green tea for your taste.
