How to remove gel nail polish at home in 4 easy & fast steps:
First Step: Roughen the Gel Nail Polish
In order to remove the gel nail polish, you must first roughen the top layer with a file. This is necessary so that the acetone/gel nail polish remover used in the next step can penetrate and soften the nail polish. While doing so, you must be careful to only work on the top layer and not hurt your natural nails.
Second step: Soak Nails
After you have roughened the top layer, you need to soak your nails with acetone-soaked cotton pads.
Tip: To protect your cuticles from the aggressive acetone, apply Vaseline or nail oil to the skin around your fingers before applying the acetone-soaked cotton pad.
You can take absorbent cotton pads or cellophane and soak them in acetone, attach them to your nails with aluminum foil, and fix them with a nail clip.
In order for the acetone to dissolve the nail polish layers, the nails must remain “packed” for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can use a special Gel Nail Polish Remover if you don’t want to use the foil-wrapping method. The first step is exactly the same. Now apply the Gel Nail Polish Remover to your gel nails and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes until you see the gel polish cracking. For this method, you don’t need foil, cotton pads, etc.

Third step: Remove the Crumbly Layers
